Kansas City Chiefs: Rapid Reaction Vs Buffalo Bills in Week 12
After starting the season at 5-0, the Kansas City Chiefs have lost five of their last six games. They’re now 6-5 after a loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
For most of the first half, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith had just one completion for three yards. The offense couldn’t get anything going in that first half and despite somewhat heating up in the second half, it wasn’t good enough, as they fell to Buffalo 16-10 at Arrowhead.
Now at 6-5, the Kansas City Chiefs have been forgotten about in the league, and for good reason. They were once the top scoring team in the league and now can barely function on offense. The defense even held up their end of the bargain on Sunday, holding the Bills to one touchdown and three field goals.
I’m going to say this, and it won’t be popular, but it’s time to see what the Kansas City Chiefs have in Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs could still make the playoffs (and probably will honestly, thanks to their hot start), but does anyone expect them to make any noise once they’re there? I sure don’t.
The Chiefs have an opportunity to put Mahomes in and give him some reps to see what the kid has. Smith isn’t providing anything positive for the Chiefs in the last month of the season (he’s been downright awful these past few weeks) and he’s destroying his trade value in the process.

What was once a confusing dilemma of the Chiefs potentially having to hold onto Smith for another season has now become an easy solution. Smith isn’t going to be on this team after 2017.
The Bills were a slumping team and gave Kansas City plenty of opportunities to grab hold of this game, but the KC Chiefs could not take advantage. This is a sunken football team who has lost their momentum. They never used to lose to bad or even mediocre teams, and that’s just what we’re witnessing now.
Kareem Hunt has done nothing this past month, Travis Kelce is being ignored despite being the best player on the team, and Smith once being an MVP candidate is now laughable.
The Kansas City Chiefs looked to be a shoe-in as a top team after the first month of the season, but oh how the mighty have fallen since then. The Chiefs will now be lucky to scrap out a division title and host a playoff game, which will be tough considering how well the Chargers have played in the last month.
Perhaps the loss to Buffalo is still too fresh in my mind, but this Kansas City Chiefs team looks completely broken.
