Kansas City Chiefs: Blowout or bust against New York Giants
The Kansas City Chiefs are playing a one-win New York Giants team this weekend and the Chiefs better blow them out or else panic will ensue.
Okay, look. I get it. The Kansas City Chiefs are 6-3 and look to be a shoe-in to make the playoffs this year. That’s wonderful and it’s nice being able to feel confident in making the playoffs every year after some bad eras for Chiefs football.
With that said, however, if the Chiefs drop this game to the New York Giants or don’t win in a blowout, the fans will have a right to be worried about this team moving forward.
You see, the Giants are an atrocious football team. They’re not quite on Cleveland’s level, but it’s sure close. Their recent loss came to the-then winless 49ers, so that tells you all you need to know about the G-Men this year.
The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t a bad football team. Sure, their defense is questionable in a few spots this year, but this is a good team and one that could very well win out to close out the regular season. Their schedule sure allows that to be a strong possibility.

With everything the Chiefs have going for them (Andy Reid off a bye week, an offense waiting to explode again, dare I go on?) and all of the drama surrounding the Giants recently, this game should be a blowout for the Chiefs.
Kansas City has Travis Kelce, yes I’m saying it, THE best tight end in football, and no one on that Giants team is capable of stopping him. Kelce should have a monstrous day in the Meadowlands.
While the Giants have weapons on offense (Sterling Shepard, Evan Engram to name a few), their offensive line is a joke. Their right tackle is going to miss this game, so if Justin Houston isn’t rushing Eli Manning on nearly every play and is dropping into coverage, I’m going to have a meltdown.
There are no sure things in sports, but this is about as close to a “Gimme” game as one can get. This is a bad Giants football team who looks like they’ve quit on the year. The 49ers demolished them last week, and the 49ers are just as bad as the Giants are.
If the Kansas City Chiefs lose to the Giants or barely squeak by with a win, then this season is a wrap. They don’t deserve to make the playoffs and I’ll stand by that statement.
Hopefully, however, the Chiefs blow out the G-Men and this team is 7-3 with a really easy schedule to close out the season. That’s the dream.
