Kansas basketball: Live stream, TV, notes vs South Dakota State
By Joel Wagler
The Kansas basketball team faces an easier opponent Friday against the South Dakota State Jackrabbits than they did earlier in the week.
Three days after holding off a ranked foe in the Champions Classic, the Kansas basketball team returns home to face the South Dakota State Jackrabbits.
The Kansas Jayhawks defeated the Kentucky Wildcats in front of a national audience, 65-61, despite shooting just 35.3 percent from the field.
The Jackrabbits are undefeated, and the trip to Allen Fieldhouse will be their first road game of the season.

KANSAS BASKETBALL NOTES
Billy Preston has yet to make his debut for the Jayhawks, and there is no word if he will pay Friday or not. According to KUSports.com, some questions regarding Preston’s automobile have arisen after he was in a minor traffic accident on Saturday.

"However, following the accident, the KU Athletics compliance office is looking into the “financial picture” of the car."
Whatever that means!
If the questions aren’t answered to the satisfaction of the compliance office, fans will have to wait a bit longer to see Preston on the court.
Kansas was awful in all aspects of the shooting the basketball against Kentucky. They hit just 35. 3 percent of their field goal attempts, 28.6 percent from three-point range, and 56.3 percent from the charity stripe.
From the line, most of the futility was because Udoka Azubuike was just three for eight. The rest of the team was six for eight. The big fellow will need to improve hsi foul shooting beause his game is going to translate into a lot of opportunities.
KANSAS BASKETBALL TEAM LEADERS THROUGH TWO GAMES
- Points – Legerald Vick, Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk – 16.0 ppg
- Rebounds – Udoka Azubuike – 7.0 rpg
- Assists – Devonte’ Graham – 8.5 apg
- Steals – Graham – 2.5 spg
Head coach Bill Self is going to have to deal with a thin bench, whether he has Preston or not. Hopefully, he can get Mitch Lightfoot more minutes against opponents like South Dakota State so the sophomore forward can gain a bit more experience.

Sometimes it is hard to discern quality play against subpar opposition, though it is much easier to spot negatives. Hopefully, the Kansas basketball team can make improvements in the areas they need most, and build up some confidence and game experience along the way.
