Why disliking the Cardinals should be part of being a Royals fan

That simple premise is that every fan of the KC Royals should despise the Cardinals. It’s much bigger than the fact that the two teams engage in the I-70 series every year. In fact, it has very little to do with the on-field action.

The reasons to despise that franchise are many. If you want proof of how the fans behave, check out the Baseball’s Best Fans account on Twitter.

If the dress code seemingly designed to keep certain people out based on their appearance isn’t bad enough, consider the argument that it has driven out other local businesses who had been operating in the area for decades.

If that’s still not enough to convince Royals fans that hating the Cardinals should be as much a part of their fandom as loving Bo Jackson, there is more. This franchise has the distinction of being the only professional sport entertainment organization in the history of North American major sports that has had an employee found guilty of corporate espionage.

It’s possible that this move may go down, as the Marlins are probably more than willing while St. Louis has the money, the need and the pieces. That possibility should have Royals fans hoping against hope.
