Rebounding deemed as a weakness

Despite some solid performances throughout for the Jayhawks, a weakness has once again surfaced above the talent – rebounding. Of course, when there is a four guard lineup on the court, a team will give up a few boards, but the team must improve on the glass or it may kick them in the rear later on in the season.

More from Kansas Jayhawks

Azubuike must be more dominant on the glass, and a few guards are now expected to box-out effectively, and own the boards. In the exhibition game, the Tigers outrebounded the Jayhawks 41-37.

This is not bad considering a four guard lineup was on the court most of the game, but it is important for a team to get at least 65% of the rebounds to consider the rebounding to be won in their favor. With the best head coach in college basketball, along with a stellar staff following, the team can easily get this corrected.

It is only preseason, but this is something to keep in mind as a weakness for the Jayhawks.
