Evaluating his EliteMixtape

Dotson’s game has so many dimensions, it is hard to pinpoint one reason to why he is a top-tier point guard in the 2018 class. To make my job a little easier, I found a highlight reel from EliteMixtapes via YouTube to give my readers a visual – and to hopefully to get you excited as I am about the kid. Let’s take a look.

Key highlights throughout his established mixtape

  • 0:29 – Great defensive mindset, able to bait opposing point guard into easy 2 points
  • 0:41 – quick first bounce from the floor
  • 0:49 – crafty with the basketball in his hands, able to use his ball-handling to elude defenders
  • 0:51-0:58 – more than capable of creating his own shot, also creative lay-up capabilities
  • 1:03 – excellent court vision
  • 1:36 – smooth jumper, with a nice and soft looking release, jumps into his shot
  • 1:48 – uses his body well to protect the basketball from defenders despite his small frame, to create his own shots
  • 1:51 – once again, great court vision, seemed to get a little cocky with that pass… makes it look easy.
  • 1:54 – looks like he is going to be a pretty good Jayhawk.
