The Kansas City Chiefs will welcome in a team that appears to have their number in the Pittsburgh Steelers. Does Madden think they can topple the Steel Curtain in week six?

After Madden incorrectly predicted the result to last week’s game, it’ll now try to simulate the Kansas City Chiefs‘ week six match-up, which will come against the Pittsburgh Steelers. In its prior simulation, which was for the game in Houston against the Texans, Madden predicted the Chiefs to lose.

Well, we obviously know that the Chiefs won the game and moved to 5-0 on the year. Madden said that Alex Smith would throw for 249 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception, but he ended up crushing those numbers going for 324 yards and three touchdowns.

Madden projected Kareem Hunt to have a great game, which he did (though it took until the second half) and said both Tyreek Hill and Demetrius Harris would find the end zone, which neither did. I won’t give Madden too hard of a time for not predicting Charcandrick West and De’Anthony Thomas to be the two guys to score touchdowns for the Chiefs.

As for the Texans, Madden said Deshaun Watson would post the same exact stats that Smith ended up putting up, which is creepy. Instead, Watson threw for under 300 yards, but had five touchdowns on the evening. Lamar Miller and Ryan Griffin didn’t have the big games it predicted, but DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller had themselves good nights.

  • Madden is now 2-3 with predicting games. Will it be correct this week? Let’s take a look at what crazy things the game projected for week six.

    FINAL SCORE – CHIEFS 20, STEELERS 18

    CHIEFS STATS

    STEELERS STATS

  • Ben Roethlisberger – 21/45, 254 yards, TD, INT
  • Le’Veon Bell – 18 carries, 87 yards
  • Jesse James – 7 receptions, 49 yards
  • Martavis Bryant – 5 receptions, 62 yards, TD
  • Antonio Brown – 3 receptions, 63 yards, Dropped Pass
  • Joe Haden

    – 8 tackles

    More from Kansas City Chiefs

Hey, it picked the good guys to win this one! I feel like that’s a rare thing for Madden to do. The simulation had the Steelers scoring a touchdown with 50 seconds left in the game, but they failed on the two-point conversion (hey, sounds familiar). Kansas City led the entire game except for when the Steelers had a field goal early on.

It looks like Madden is starting to buy into the Kansas City Chiefs though and into Alex Smith, as it projected him to throw for 281 yards and two touchdowns. Kareem Hunt should have a good game and it looks as though concussions and injuries won’t slow Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill down.

As for the Steelers, this is a team that the Chiefs have struggled against, but they’re having a rough time right now. Roethlisberger throws a lot in this game, but gets picked off once while Antonio Brown continues to be a “distraction” by dropping a pass.

It’s about time for the KC Chiefs to knock off the Steelers, so I really hope the game plays out this way. We need our revenge for last year’s playoff loss, if for no other reason than it’ll help me sleep at night.
