KC Royals news has been centered on where players such as Eric Hosmer, Mike Moustakas, Lorenzo Cain and others might sign in the coming months.

With an end of an era comes speculation on where the hometown heroes who have played out their contracts for the Kansas City Royals might land.

Many probably hold out hope that two or three of the group that includes Eric Hosmer, Mike Moustakas, Lorenzo Cain, Alcides Escobar, and Jason Vargas might re-sign with the Royals, but the market for most of them will probably guarantee that one at the most might return.

Escobar will have the smallest market and salary, but the Royals have a similar, much younger, much cheaper option in Raul Mondesi.

The biggest consideration will be what the market is for each of these players and if the Royals will be able t compete in each of those markets.

Maybe the market will be bigger for some players than others and some of these players might find the market a bit lower than they hoped.

Regardless. the Royals are going to have to decide how much they can afford to pay to keep any of these players.

The Royals have been in the news quite a bit, even if they aren’t still playing, and that is so much better than a decade ago.
