Kansas City Chiefs: The Day After Sunday night’s win at Houston
By Chris Taylor
In conclusion
The Chiefs stayed undefeated and that’s something in itself. Many of the KCKingdom staff predicted the Chiefs would fall to the Texans. We were pleasantly wrong.
Alex Smith is becoming the quarterback darling of the NFL this season. Many agree that he is the MVP so far this season.
Harrison Butker has given the Chiefs confidence in the kicking game once again on his five for five night.
There were glimpses of the ’16 Chiefs in the redzone as they had to settle for field goals on multiple occasions.
The defense got torched late as the score doesn’t quite reflect how the game played out. Some miracle shots down field went in the Texans favor as Watson reaped the statistical benefits.
All eyes will be on the injury report to see what next week will look like with Travis Kelce and others. Kelce had 98 yards on 8 catches in the first half.
Kareem Hunt was a workhorse for the Kansas City Chiefs, rushing the ball 29 times for 107 yards.
The game ball has to go to Smith however, his final stat line was 29/37 for 328 yards and 3 touchdowns. For the fifth time in five games the Chiefs have yet to turn the ball over.
