The Kansas City Chiefs have their work cut out for them this weekend, as they’ll head to Houston to face the red hot Texans. What did Madden predict for this week five match-up?

Coming off a victory on Monday Night Football, the Kansas City Chiefs will now face the Houston Texans, but this time the setting will be on Sunday Night Football. The Chiefs are the only undefeated team left in the league while the Texans are sitting at 2-2.

Houston looked awful after week one, getting demolished by the Jacksonville Jaguars, but have looked significantly better since then. They blew out the Titans last week and nearly upset the Patriots in Foxborough in week three.

Madden is 2-2 so far when it comes to simulating the Chiefs’ games. It predicted a win last week against the Redskins, which put its record at .500 for the season to this point. So how did Madden do with predicting the stats from that game?

Well, for starters, it was somewhat close on Alex Smith, though it did not predict him to have any touchdowns on the evening. Smith had two against Washington, one passing and one rushing. The sim also said Kareem Hunt would have a huge game with over 100 yards and two touchdowns, which again, was close. Hunt ran for 101 yards, but did not find the end zone for the first time in a game as a rookie.

Madden also said Travis Kelce would have a great game and he did indeed. Tyreek Hill didn’t do much though, which Madden thought he’d get at least 60+ yards. Hill has been quiet since week one.

As for the Redskins stats, Madden didn’t do so hot. Kirk Cousins did not throw two interceptions, Robert Kelley didn’t score a touchdown, and Cousins didn’t leave the game with an injury. Madden did give Kansas City credit in that one, predicting them to win 28-16 over the Redskins. At least they got the victor correct.

What crazy predictions will the Madden simulation have for us this week? Let’s take a look.

FINAL SCORE – TEXANS 28, CHIEFS 26

    TEXANS STATS

There’s a lot to get to when it comes to these stats! The Texans led the entire game until there was 1:31 remaining in the game. Kansas City marched down the field from their own four-yard line and Charcandrick West barged his way into the end zone from the one-yard line.

While that would seem to be enough for the Chiefs to win their fifth straight game, it was just the Texans’ night, as Watson led his offense down the field. Houston called a timeout with three seconds remaining and Fairbairn kicked the game winning field goal.

Watson had an incredible night, throwing for over 320 yards and three scores with no interceptions. He spread the football around well, getting Fuller, Griffin, and Hopkins involved in the passing game.

As for the KC Chiefs, Alex Smith had a decent night, but finally turned the football over. Kareem Hunt ran rough shot over the Texans defense, but did not find the end zone for the second straight week. Tyreek Hill got it going in this one, but Travis Kelce was invisible.

The biggest thing to note is that rookie kicker Harrison Butker missed two extra points. For those of you keeping score, if he converted on those, the Texans’ game winning field goal would have forced overtime, rather than win them the game. Woof, I hope this isn’t how the game actually goes. That’d be a depressing way to lose.

What do you think, Chiefs fans? Does this seem realistic or are you confident that the Kansas City Chiefs will win in Houston?
