. TE. Kansas City Chiefs. TRAVIS KELCE. B+

Chiefs Kingdom was waiting for Travis Kelce to get in on the action and he had his 2017 coming out party in week two! Perhaps it was the fact that Kelce was playing against his older brother (Jason Kelce, who is a center for the Eagles), but he had a tremendous day at Arrowhead in the home opener.

Kelce led the Chiefs in receiving on Sunday, grabbing eight passes for 103 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown came on a shovel pass from Smith where he barreled his way through and eventually leaped over everyone to get into the end zone. It was magnificent!

The only reason Kelce didn’t receive an A on this week’s report card was because he, once again, got a personal foul called against him. That now makes it three straight games (counting the postseason game from a season ago) where Kelce has gotten a stupid penalty. He promised in an interview shown before the Chiefs/Patriots game that he wouldn’t be doing that crap anymore, and he has not lived up to that promise so far in this young season.

The good news was that Andy Reid was shown in Kelce’s face screaming at him after the penalty was announced. Perhaps that will whip him into shape before his antics cost the team a game. At the end of the day though, this team needs Kelce so it’s not like they can bench him or anything like that.
