Maybe my most absolute favorite hot take out there is when people blame the kicker for a loss. Fortunately, this has nothing to do with the Kansas City Chiefs, but it’s still a good one. Skip Bayless always does right by me when I need to find a hot take in a hurry.

You can rant and rave all you want, but what happened to the other 45 players who were on the field for the remaining 59 minutes and 50 seconds of football? Were they seriously playing just to put their hopes on the leg of the kicker? Does nobody else see anything wrong with that logic?
I’ve said this about 1000 times now, but the kicker cannot lose the game for you. Not even Lin Elliott holds that distinction (the Chiefs offense only scored seven points that game). You should never let the game come down to the kicker. When it does, all he can do is win it for you. If he misses, then it was the rest of the game that lost it.
You have got to love hot takes. It may be the single greatest thing that the internet has given us. That’s probably especially true for fans of the Kansas City Chiefs. There are few sports franchises more frustrating than the Chiefs, who excel at getting just close enough to raise our hopes. As the season goes on, expect the takes to get hotter and hotter.
