TOP 15 DEEP SLEEPERS TO TARGET IN 2017 – NUMBER 8: DEMETRIUS HARRIS

The Chiefs have the second best tight end in the league in Travis Kelce, but another tight end is emerging out of their preseason. That guy’s name is Demetrius Harris and he has caught three touchdown passes during three games so far this preseason.

[Harris is] not going to be someone to jump at adding, but keep an eye on his targets in the red zone.

Harris has never been a big fantasy football name, in fact he hasn’t been discussed at all, and a big part of that is that he dropped a lot of passes. It also doesn’t hurt that Alex Smith likes to spread the football around more than most quarterbacks and Harris wouldn’t be targeted more than a time or two a game.

Demetrius Harris saw his best season as a professional tight end last year, catching 17 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown. Those stats aren’t mind blowing at all, but he should be a bigger part of the Chiefs offense this year and could end up being their prime red zone target for Smith.

Non-Chiefs fans will likely pass on Harris, simply because they have no clue who he is, but Chiefs fans will be aware of how well he’s performed this preseason. He’s not going to be someone to jump at adding, but keep an eye on his targets in the red zone. That alone could be a reason to have him on your squad.
