TOP 15 DEEP SLEEPERS TO TARGET IN 2017 – NUMBER 2: MALCOLM MITCHELL

Any time there is a wide receiver in New England that we’ve never heard of, there’s a good chance that he’s going to excel in the league. A lot of this is simply due to having Tom Brady as his quarterback, and hey, that’s a nice luxury to have.

Malcolm Mitchell is the latest Patriots receiver who is going to step up this year and pad his resumé. Mitchell will be asked to do even more now with the news of Julian Edelman missing this season due to a torn ACL.

Brady loved throwing to Edelman and now, he’ll have to find another favorite receiver not named Rob Gronkowski. Mitchell could wind up being that guy, as he caught 32 passes for 401 yards and found the end zone four times last year.

While Malcolm Mitchell isn’t a name that many casual NFL fans know, playing for Tom Brady has its perks and Mitchell could very well climb to one of the best wide receivers in fantasy football this year as a result. That’s the definition of a deep sleeper.
