#6 CJ Spiller Has Something Left In The Tank

When the Kansas City Chiefs first signed CJ Spiller this offseason, I didn’t think much of it. Looking beyond the name recognition, Spiller has been a bad combination of injury prone and ineffective the past few years. However, the veteran running back has shown a lot of life so far in camp, and may have a very good shot at making the Chiefs roster.

CJ Spiller has been impressing the Chiefs coaching staff. As a result, he has jumped ahead of incumbent Charcandrick West on the depth chart. If Spiller can hold onto that spot, it will be a huge personal victory for him and a step towards resurrecting his career.

Early on in his pro career, CJ Spiller showed a lot of talent and ability. However, he has been plagued by the injury bug in recent years, and it hampered his ability to be an effective running back. As a result, Spiller has bounced around a number of teams recently. It’s unlikely he has a long-term future in Kansas City, but this is a great chance for him to rebound.
