Kansas City Chiefs: 10 Things From St Joe’s

#7 De’Anthony Thomas Is Getting Another Chance

For whatever reason, it seemed as though the Kansas City Chiefs had soured on De’Anthony Thomas during the past couple of years. The return man was seemingly replaced by Tyreek Hill last year, after some confusing issues during the previous season. However, Thomas is now back at the top of the returner depth chart, indicating a new opportunity.

There is no denying that De’Anthony Thomas has elite physical abilities. However, there has been some question as to whether he can be anything more than a return man. NFL teams are not in the habit of keeping guys solely as return specialists.

On the other hand, with Tyreek Hill occupying a starting receiver position, there is more wiggle room to keep De’Anthony Thomas on board. The Chiefs won’t want Hill taking as many hits, so that return job is likely open. If that is the case, Thomas is by far the most qualified player for the job.
