Fantasy Football Tight Ends to Target in 2017 – Number 11: HUNTER HENRY

2016 Ranking: 19th

Heading into his second year, Hunter Henry could be a great sleeper pick at the tight end position this year. I like what Henry brings to the table a lot, as he has Philip Rivers as his quarterback and we all know that Antonio Gates isn’t getting any younger. Henry should be the starter for the newly relocated Los Angeles Chargers.

There is still some doubt surrounding Henry’s production this year, however, as the tweet below indicates.

Where Henry really excelled a season ago was at finding the end zone. The young Chargers tight end had eight touchdown receptions, which made his 478 yards look even better.

While a tight end getting eight touchdowns two years in a row isn’t the likeliest of scenarios, the Chargers are always have injury questions when it comes to their receivers. Mike Williams, their first round pick from this year, could miss the entire season, and Keenan Allen is always hurt.

That leaves things open for Hunter Henry to become Rivers’ favorite target. The two connected on 36 receptions last season, and Henry put up 129.8 fantasy points a season ago.

Henry has the ability to be a legitimate number one tight end in fantasy football, but I’d still wait until the later rounds to draft him.
