There aren’t a ton of Kansas City Chiefs stories right now, but something interesting popped up on Saturday. Linebacker Tamba Hali sent a series of intriguing tweets that are honestly quite confusing to everyone.

Call it a slow news day or whatever you want, but the series of tweets that Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali put out on Saturday afternoon definitely raised eyebrows. These tweets are very odd, as Hali has always seemed to be very positive on Twitter and mostly just promotes his music.

The first tweet was sent at 2:15 on Saturday and brought up the lack of playing time Hali had in the playoff game against the Steelers. He sent another tweet shortly after mentioning that he was under the impression he didn’t play much during the end of the regular season due to the coaching staff wanting him to be fresh for postseason play.

The biggest part of these tweets were Hali asking, “Am I needed in KC anymore?”. It’s a fair question for Hali to ask, as he was nearly invisible in the last half of the season.

Tamba Hali continued on, mentioning his work ethic during his 11 years with the Chiefs. He seemingly called out some of his teammates too, alluding to that the team didn’t have 100% of attendance in workouts.

Hali is a prime example of athletes who suddenly get old and aren’t nearly as effective. In 2015, Tamba Hali had six and a half sacks and 39 tackles as well as two forced fumbles. He started all but one game that year and was then re-signed to a three-year deal as a result.

That deal looks like a major mistake now, however, as Hali’s 2016 campaign was not good. He started in just two games and racked up 24 tackles, three and a half sacks, and recovered just one fumble. Dee Ford‘s emergence in the middle part of the season really made Chiefs fans see that they’d be okay without Hali and that was why he saw limited playing time throughout the season.

Here’s some of the action from Twitter on Saturday:

These were only a few of the tweets that Tamba Hali issued on Saturday, but fans have a right to question the reasoning behind them. It doesn’t seem like something Hali would do, but perhaps he truly is frustrated with the way he’s been treated over the past year.

It’s been a dramatic offseason for the Kansas City Chiefs, but this is an even more puzzling storyline to watch. It could end up being nothing or it could end up being a very big something.

What do you make of this, Chiefs fans?
