Kansas City Royals RP Trade Targets

David Robertson – Chicago White Sox

More from Kansas City Royals

There is no denying who the top name in the relief pitcher market is, and that is David Robertson of the White Sox. Despite the division opponent conflict, the Kansas City Chiefs should absolutely be interested in making this happen. Unfortunately, every team in contention will be thinking the same thing.

David Robertson was almost with the Nationals this offseason. Nobody expected this kind of a season from him. Of course now Washington is kicking themselves for not making it happen, while the White Sox are laughing at their good fortune. There is no doubt he’ll be traded, the question is where he will end up.

The price tag is going to be very high for Robertson. That is the big deterrent here as the Royals would essentially be equipping the White Sox for the future. However, Kansas City seems confident that they can make another run at the World Series this year. Do you sell out for that? Many people would argue “yes”.

The Kansas City Royals are turning the league on its head right now. Considered firm in the “sellers” column just weeks ago, they are now looking poised to be buyers. If things keep up this way, the Royals will definitely be in a position to make some noise in the postseason. It’s time to start thinking about those possibilities.
