Kansas City Chiefs: Potential reasons why John Dorsey was fired
June isn’t the most common time for NFL teams to fire anyone in a prime position, which makes this move even more shocking. The KC Chiefs must have had a good reason to part ways with John Dorsey, but it’s a puzzling move to say the least.

Nobody expected this type of bomb to drop, but it happened, and now the Kansas City Chiefs have to move forward and not let this move cripple their upcoming season. The Chiefs are coming off a 12-4 season where they won the AFC West and looked the best they’ve looked in years.
Since the end of the season, they’ve had ups and downs, but their downs have been huge. Cutting Jamaal Charles, Jeremy Maclin, and now John Dorsey have all created a negative buzz around this organization. Are guys going to want to play for the Chiefs when they have this type of reputation?
Obviously Dorsey being fired is shocking enough, but what is going to happen to this team in the future? Andy Reid is a great coach, but this move definitely has questions behind it. Did Dorsey not like the Mahomes pick? Did he not feel the need to trade up to get a quarterback or did he want a different guy like Deshaun Watson?
Or did this decision have nothing to do with Patrick Mahomes and more to do with his “feuding” with Andy Reid and/or Clark Hunt?
