Missouri Tigers: Five Baseball Players Heading to Major League Baseball

Tigers Infield Not Left Out on Draft Day
Rounding out the Missouri Tigers’ 2017 draft class are Robbie Glendinning and Brett Bond. Glendinning was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 21st round. As for Bond, he was drafted by the Astros in the 23rd round.
According to ABC News out of his native Australia, Glendinning was projected to be picked somewhere between the 8th and 15th rounds of the draft. Despite dropping to the 21st round, Glendinning is still planning to sign with the Bucs.
Glendinning only spent one year in a Missouri Tigers uniform but made it a great one with an average of .274. In addition, he achieved a team-high 13 doubles along with seven home runs in 2017.
Regarding Bond, expect the Mizzou catcher to sign with the Astros rather than staying in Columbia. I feel like another year could have only helped his draft stock. However, there seems to be no room at the inn for catchers with two commits and A.J. Lewis already on the Tigers’ roster.

Bond should be able to contribute at the minor league level as he slugged .307 and had 47 RBIs. In fact, per MUTigers.com, he set career highs for himself in batting, slugging, OBP, hits, doubles, homers, RBIs, and runs scored.
