The KC Royals pulled fans back in this past weekend with their series win over the Cleveland Indians, a team who had their number last year. The Royals won two out of three games.

More from Kansas City Royals

Wouldn’t it be nice to return home and win another series against another division rival? The Tigers used to have the Royals’ number, but that changed two seasons ago. The Tigers haven’t been as good since 2014, the last time they won the Central, and they likely won’t be a playoff contender this year either.

It’d be nice to see the Royals continue to beat up on the Tigers, but this could be a tight series. We’re still not sure of who is pitching for Kansas City on Tuesday night (of course that’s the game I’m going to), but I really hope it’s not Chris Young. Please don’t be Chris Young.

Here are the pitching match-ups:

  • Monday, May 29th – Jason Hammel (1-6, 5.98 ERA) Vs Daniel Norris (2-3, 4.38 ERA)
  • Tuesday, May 30th – TBA Vs Justin Verlander (4-3, 4.87 ERA)
  • Wednesday, May 31st – Ian Kennedy (0-4, 4.43 ERA) Vs Matt Boyd (2-5, 5.40 ERA)

The Tigers’ starting rotation hasn’t been stellar, but neither has the Royals’ offense. That could be pose a problem for sure. While Justin Verlander isn’t as good this year, historically he’s been pretty dang good against the KC Royals.

Here’s to hoping for two straight series wins!
