ERIC HOSMER

Eric Hosmer had a slow start to the 2017 season, but these last few weeks have seen him really heat up at the plate. Hosmer is leading the team in batting average with a .295 average in 46 games and 176 at bats.

The only knock on Hosmer is that his power still isn’t where it should be. The former first round pick has only slammed four home runs to this point of the season, but overall is coming through in the clutch.

Hosmer’s current slash line is .295/.359/.415 and he’s definitely starting to show that he’s worthy of a big contract this offseason. He’ll be the name to watch if the Royals continue to lose when the trade deadline nears, as any team would be glad to have someone like Hosmer on their team.

Hosmer comes through in the big moments, as evidenced by his triple in the 2014 Wild Card game and stealing home to tie Game 5 of the 2015 World Series. All teams want that kind of guy on their team and Eric Hosmer is just that.
