NATE KARNS

How about Nate Karns in his last outing for the Kansas City Royals? The former trade piece from the Mariners struck out a career high 12 batters and allowed two runs off of five hits. He did allow two home runs, but his offense bailed him out for once.

Karns has been up and down all season. He’s either electrifying, striking guys out right and left, or he’s giving up home runs and taking his team out of the game early on.

Karns will be toeing the slab on Friday and will look to continue bringing down his ERA, which currently sits at 4.46 after eight total games (seven starts). As of now, however, trading Jarrod Dyson for Nate Karns is looking like a good idea for Dayton Moore and the Royals.

The Royals sent a utility player to Seattle for a guy in the rotation who can flat out strike guys out at the plate. That’s something that fans can’t overlook and hopefully we continue to see “Nasty Nate” on the mound in this upcoming series.
