Kansas City Chiefs: Jamaal Charles not a lock to make Broncos roster

Kansas City Chiefs fans were devastated when former star running back Jamaal Charles signed with the rival Denver Broncos this offseason. Reports are coming out, however, that Charles might not even make Denver’s roster in 2017.
Jamaal Charles is now a Denver Bronco. Typing it just now made me cringe, but hey… The KC Chiefs didn’t want Charles and he did what was best for him and his family. He took a job where he could still be utilized and Chiefs fans can’t get mad at him for that.
While him saying “I’ve always wanted to be a Bronco” and praising an organization that Chiefs fans loathe was a cheap shot, Charles knows it’s a business and he’ll now be playing against his former team twice a year for the next however many years.
Will it be a long tenure for Jamaal Charles though? Will he even make the roster in Denver? Mike Klis of KUSA said that Charles’ chances of being a Broncos running back is at 50/50.

"The Broncos brought in the great Jamaal Charles but because of his knee injuries, I’d put his chances of making the season-opening roster at 50-50.His low-guarantee, one-year minimum contract with heavy incentives suggests doubts as to whether he can make it — but it’s a risk worth taking."
While no Chiefs fan wants to see Jamaal Charles have carries in a Broncos uniform, none of us want to see him completely fail either. Charles had great success as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs and leads the franchise in rushing yards. He was the highlight of some really, really bad Chiefs teams over the years and played during those seasons with total class.
I figured that Charles was a shoe-in when it came to Denver’s roster, but after reading Klis’ article, it does make sense. The Broncos have C.J. Anderson, who despite coming off an injury, will likely be their main back in their offense.
Denver also has Devontae Booker and De’Angelo Henderson, who will both be fighting for the second and third spots on the roster. If both of those guys impress over training camp and the preseason, it’d be a much easier solution to go with the two young guys as opposed to 30-year Jamaal Charles who has had two ACL surgeries over the past five years.
At the end of the day, no one in Chiefs Kingdom wants to see Jamaal Charles fail, but it’s a double-edged sword in a way, because we also don’t want him to run all over the Chiefs in their two games this season.
What do you think, Chiefs fans? Will Jamaal Charles make the Broncos team and will be effective for them?
