KC Royals fans are passionate, there’s no doubt about that. When the team went to two straight World Series, the people of Kansas City were behind them all the way. Somehow that’s only good to make KC the 11th best baseball town.

Hey, what gives FOX Sports? Dieter Kurtenbach of FOX Sports put a list out of the best baseball towns in North America and had the Kansas City Royals at number 11 on the list.

Now this wasn’t a ranking of the entire league, as the list only had 13 spots, so of course it was great being included, but obviously Kansas City should have been much higher on the list.

Here was Kurtenbach’s reasoning for why KC was ranked where it was ranked,

"The Royals’ strong run re-ignited a long dormant fire in Kansas City. The loyal fans who stuck through some thin, thin years were rewarded but all of Kansas City fell back in love with their team. The only question is how long it can stick."

I think what made me the most mad was that St. Louis came in at number one. Those of you reading my posts for awhile know that I loathe St. Louis and all of their sports (so… all two of them). I get that the Cardinals have 11 World Series in their history, but in my lifetime, they’ve only won two. The Royals have one less championship than that.

The Cardinals have an entire Twitter account dedicated to them just being an awful fan base. I know all teams have bad fans, but St. Louis is actually known for it!

Anyway, back to Kansas City, I guess at the end of the day, non-Kansas Cityians don’t think that Royals fans will stick around once this current group of players is gone. Going to two World Series will make any town notice you, but it’s continuing to stay relevant that is the big question here.

The rest of the list looked like this:

More from Kansas City Royals

  1. St. Louis
  2. San Francisco
  3. Chicago Cubs
  4. Boston
  5. Baltimore
  6. New York Mets
  7. Cincinnati
  8. Toronto
  9. Detroit
  10. Los Angeles Dodgers
  11. Kansas City
  12. San Diego
  13. Anaheim Angels

I’m shocked that the Mets are included, but the Yankees aren’t. Also, how is Baltimore ranked fifth? The rest of the list looks fine, but obviously I’m going to sit here and argue that Kansas City should be higher.

The biggest argument I have: Look back to the 2015 All-Star Game voting. Remember when KC Royals fans almost singlehandedly voted their entire team into the big game? The Cubs faithful would try to repeat that the next season, but Royals fans made it cool first.

What do you think, Royals fans? Should Kansas City have been higher on the list or were they ranked about right?
