JORGE SOLER

I know no one cares, but I was in Las Vegas this past weekend and actually had no idea that Jorge Soler had been called up until Sunday morning. Yeah, when I go on vacation, I try not to be that typical millennial who’s on her phone the entire time.

Anyway, so Jorge Soler is in Kansas City now after rehabbing to start the year. He’s not off to a great start, however, only managing one hit in six games so far and that came in a 12-1 thumping at the hands of the Tampa Bay Rays.

Soler is probably going to be a project for the Royals, as he has three more years on his contract after this season and he’s still young. The former Cub is only 25 years old and isn’t even in his prime yet. The Royals acquired him because of his ability to hit for power, which he showed during his rehab stint in Omaha.

Fans will probably be irritated with Jorge Soler a lot this season because he likely won’t be mashing a lot of home runs or making big plays for the team. He’ll take some coaching, but Soler has potential for sure. Just give him time.
