2017 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Staff First Round Mock Draft
2017 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Mock Draft
Los Angeles Chargers – Leigh Oleszczak
Spending two seasons on the gridiron for the Cardinal, Thomas recorded 98 total tackles, 24.5 being for loss, 12 sacks, and four fumble recoveries. The guy was a monster for Stanford during the 2015 and 2016 seasons and will give whatever team drafts him an immediate playmaker on the defensive side of the ball.
“He’s damn good. I don’t think he gets drafted as early as you do because he’s not big enough for inside and he’s not as long as you like on the outside. You have to figure out where you will play him, but he won’t stop. He’s going to be really productive.” — Director of scouting for AFC team
Staff Reaction:
This is tremendous value for the Chargers as they get a top tier defensive lineman in back to back drafts. I don’t know that they have a spot readily available for him, but Soloon Thomas is the kind of guy you make room for. If he does, somehow, fall to the Chargers…don’t be surprised to see a trade. ~ Ben Almquist
