2017 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Mock Draft

Detroit Lions – Thomas Hawkins

player. 50. The Lions need help at almost every position on the defensive side of the ball. Picking up CB DJ Hayden isn’t the long term answer most likely. Picking up a CB1 will go a long way to help shore up the secondary.. Cornerback. Alabama. Marlon Humphrey. 21

KC Kingdom Scouting Report:

It’s pretty impressive when teams gameplan around a certain player in college, and that was the case with Marlon Humphrey. The star corner was a Freshman All-SEC selection, and it convinced teams to stay away from him as a sophomore. It has been enough to convince many analysts that he’s one of the best corners in this draft class.

Insider Talk – NFL.com:

“There are some things on tape that really worry you. If he has trouble playing the long ball it is going to be bombs away against him and his team might have to change how they cover because of that. Those issues usually don’t go away.” ~ AFC Scouting Director

Staff Reaction:

The Lions would be absolutely thrilled to get Marlon Humhprey at this spot. In fact, they would probably have been calling teams about a trade when he dropped past the 15th pick. It’s great value at a position of need. ~ Ben Almquist
