2017 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Mock Draft
Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Leigh Oleszczak
Alabama. OJ Howard. 19. player. 48. The Bucs select OJ Howard with the 19th overall pick. Yes, Cameron Brate had a nice year in 2017, but Howard has more versatility and provides a legit tight end for Jamies Winston.. Tight End
In four seasons with the Crimson Tide, Howard racked up 114 receptions for 1,726 yards and seven touchdowns. His best season came as a senior in 2016 when he caught 45 passes for 595 yards and three touchdowns.
“Alabama recruited a shiny toy but (Lane) Kiffin never really knew what to do with it. I don’t worry about the talent at all. He could be an all-pro. I just need to know if he loves football.” — NFC general manager
Staff Reaction:
OJ Howard is very good value right here, but I think Dalvin Cook would be the better pick. The Bucs could use a good receiving back, and Jameis Winston should be instantly comfortable with Cook in the backfield. ~ Ben Almquist
