MIKE MOUSTAKAS

MOOOOOSE!

Mike Moustakas is back to that dominant player fans saw in 2015. He’s already crushed five home runs and fans have the utmost confidence that when Moustakas is at the plate, good things are about to happen. He gave the team the win on Saturday in the eighth inning with a home run, which was a glorious sight.

[Moose is] showing that he can be a true power hitter and the Royals have to be loving that right now.

Moose had Sunday off against the Angels, but he came in as a pinch hitter for Cheslor Cuthbert and ended up walking to first. Moustakas has been the Royals’ most reliable hitter this season and I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned him in my “Five Players to Watch” article for every series thus far.

Before the season began, it appeared that everyone wanted Eric Hosmer over Moustakas for 2018 and beyond, but Moose is making a strong case to stay in Kansas City. If he keeps hitting like this, however, there’s no chance he’ll be remaining in Royal blue next year due to the price tag he’ll earn.

As sad as it’d be if Moustakas leaves this offseason, we all have kind of seen it coming. He’s showing that he can be a true power hitter and the Royals have to be loving that right now.
