Mike Person – Offensive Line (Re-Signed)

More from Chiefs Free Agency

It’s definitely a move that won’t get talked about much at all, but the Kansas City Chiefs essentially solidified their offensive line with the re-signing of Mike Person. It’s not that Person is some sort of star player that should be a household name. Rather it is the fact that the Chiefs have created stability throughout the offensive line.

Mike Person is a journeyman lineman who has bounced around the NFL. That gives him some value to a team because he is well-versed in a variety of blocking schemes. While not a guy you want to have to rely on as a starter, he is able to step in and take snaps when you need him to. Most importantly though, he knows the Chiefs scheme and wouldn’t have to be coached up.

Updated Contract Not Yet Available

This continues a trend fro Chiefs GM John Dorsey who seems to be intent on locking up players already in house. That is very much in line with the way the Packers do things, which is where Dorsey learned the trade. That should be something that Chiefs fans come to expect in the future.

The Kansas City Chiefs are keeping relatively quite in Free Agency this year. However, the team appears to have a clear plan of attack moving forward. I don’t expect the Chiefs to make any big moves, but there may be a few happenings.
