There were actually three other Missouri Tigers to be drafted in 2014, but Michael Sam was the most recent and the biggest name out of that group.

The other three were Kony Ealy, Justin Britt,  and E.J. Gaines. Ealy played in Super Bowl 50 with the Carolina Panthers, Britt has jumped all along the Seahawks offensive line in three seasons, and Gaines was one of the many players who made the trip from St. Louis to Los Angeles with the Rams.

Ealy was actually recently traded to the New England Patriots and will join a stacked squad. He very well could end up earning a ring after losing a Super Bowl in his second year as an NFL pro.

Despite Missouri’s bad luck at football over the past two seasons, this list shows they’ve had a lot of success when it comes to producing quality players for the pros. The K-State list dated back to 2010 and the KU list goes back to nearly a decade.

Mizzou football will likely only see one guy get drafted this year though and that’s Charles Harris. Harris was a wrecking ball on the defense last season and the Tigers will miss his efforts in 2017, but the young edge rusher should be a fairly high draft pick.

It’ll be interesting to see if any other Tigers make a splash in the NFL next season, but for the time being, Missouri fans should be proud of the guys who have gone on to make an impact in the pros.
