Catch of the Year? (2016 Vs Marlins)

The 2016 season was lackluster for the most part, but Jarrod Dyson kept finding ways to reel the fanbase back in. He potentially had the catch of the year when the Royals went down to Miami to face the Marlins.

Edinson Volquez had recorded two outs in the first inning when he met Christian Yelich at the plate. Yelich crushed a ball that looked like it was a for sure home run.

Never say “for sure home run” when talking about the Kansas City Royals’ outfield though.

There are just so many reasons why this catch was insanely awesome. For one, it involved the Royals preventing themselves from giving up a big run.

There’s also just a lot that went into this catch. Dyson had to run to catch up to the ball and had to make sure he timed that jump perfectly. He did both and his defensive efforts in the outfield will absolutely be missed.
