Week 7 – Chiefs Vs Saints

Chiefs won 27-20 (My prediction: 30-13, Chiefs)

I had a big advantage in predicting this game and that advantage is that the Saints are my “other team” in the NFL. I’ve been a Saints fan for over a decade now and have watched their ups and downs (mostly downs) in these past few seasons.

The defense, despite allowing Brees to have a big day, forced turnovers and kept the game in Kansas City’s favor.

With that said, I knew the Chiefs were the type of team that the Saints would struggle against. They’d be playing in a loud, outdoor stadium against a defense that’s capable of shutting down offenses.

Any time you’re playing Drew Brees, that’s scary. Brees threw for 367 yards with three touchdowns and was picked off once. Had the Saints defense been just a bit better this season, the Chiefs very well could have lost this one.

"All the Chiefs need is for the defense to show up and slow Brees down."

Kansas City never put this game away, allowing it to come down to the final few minutes. The Who Dat clan climbed their way back into it and nearly pulled off the upset.

The fact that I only predicted New Orleans to score 13 points in this game is baffling, but I wasn’t too far off. The defense, despite allowing Brees to have a big day, forced turnovers and kept the game in Kansas City’s favor.

Chiefs: 4-2 (Leigh: 5-1)
