Los Angeles Dodgers

More from Kansas City Royals

Though they seem to have fallen out of the market for Kansas City Royals closer Wade Davis, the Los Angeles Dodgers shouldn’t be totally discounted. In fact, this may be the actual hold up in any deal being done right now. The Dodgers are reportedly interested in both Davis and outfielder Lorenzo Cain. That would make any trade have to be a complete blockbuster.

There really isn’t much word on who it is the Royals want from the Dodgers organization. However, with talks heating up and then cooling down on multiple occasions, you can bet that the price tag is steep. That makes a lot of sense considering LA is after two premier players who are in their primes.

If this deal goes through, the Royals need to absolutely demand a huge return. We’re talking three or four very good prospects. Anything less would be a rip off. There are more than a few names in the Dodgers minor league system that I would be intrigued by. So this remains something to be aware of.

The Kansas City Royals are in the driver’s seat on the trade market right now. We should expect to hear something happen today. Regardless of who comes through, it appears that Wade Davis will be wearing something other than a Royals uniform in 2017. Hopefully GM Dayton Moore can get something good in return.
