Kansas City Chiefs: Report Card Vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
By Ben Almquist
The key to a Kansas City Chiefs victory was supposed to be their ability to control the clock by running the ball. Instead, that is exactly what the Buccaneers did to KC. The Bucs racked up over 130 yards on the ground, many of which came in crucial situations. The Chiefs battered defense simply couldn’t put up a stop.

The Chiefs have struggled against the run all season long. It’s hard to understand why as the team has defensive talent all across the front seven. However, it seems like there are a lot of solid individual efforts, rather than a concerted team effort. That is a problem if the Chiefs aren’t working together.
The Chiefs were without Jaye Howard, and Allen Bailey is on injured reserve. However, there is still plenty of talent in this unit. There is something else at work here, and the coaching staff needs to figure it out and address it. If the Chiefs can’t stop the run, they will be buried by their upcoming opponents.

The Kansas City Chiefs are still 7-3 and still in position to make a run at the playoffs. However, that doesn’t change the fact that this was a bad game. Of course, it is also just one game. There are still six more contests for the Chiefs this regular season. There is time to recover from this. Especially with four of their remaining games coming against the AFC West. Winning those games is key.
