Will The Run Game Show Up

Over the past couple of weeks, the Kansas City Chiefs haven’t been the dominant running team fans are used to. The Chiefs failed to eclipse 100 yards on the ground against both the Jaguars and Panthers. While they still pulled out the win, it is clear that in order to be truly effective on offense, they need to be able to run the rock.

Spencer Ware didn’t have a bad individual performance last week. Coming off of a concussion, the Chiefs back only got the ball 13 times on the ground. However, Ware was able to turn that into an impressive 61 yards for a 4.7 yard per carry average. The Chiefs need to get back to feeding Ware the ball and letting him beat down opposing defenses.

Tampa Bay is not very good against the run, surrendering 118 yards per game on the ground. The Chiefs absolutely need to take advantage of this and attack the Bucs on the ground. On paper, this is exactly the type of team the Chiefs should look forward to playing. There is a clear advantage here for KC.
