Chiefs Cut Sam Barrington and Sio Moore

Over the course of the year, the Kansas City Chiefs have been looking for help at inside linebacker.  This has been a result of injuries to Josh Mauga and Justin March.  Sam Barrington was brought in at the beginning of the year, but saw little of the field due to injury.  Sio Moore was a more recent signing, but also failed to see much action.  It’s really not a surprise either was released.

I wasn’t happy when the Kansas City Chiefs signed Sam Barrington to the roster and put Ramik Wilson on the Practice Squad.  I generally tend to be supportive of the moves John Dorsey makes, but I hated this one.  So it’s a little bittersweet to hear of Barrington being released while Wilson takes over the starting job.

As for Sio Moore, I don’t think anyone really had much hope for that signing working out.  Moore has bounced around a little bit but shown little of the potential he had as a draft prospect.  It isn’t hard to see that the Chiefs were simply filling a roster hole until a better option could be found.  Fortunately, that better option seemse to have come from within the organization.
