Chiefs Give: 2017 6th Round Pick

When you talk about the Kansas City Chiefs defense, you can’t leave out the pass rush.  That is what Bob Sutton has built his defense around.  For the past several years, the Chiefs have brought constant pressure.  However, in 2016 that hasn’t been the case with Justin Houston not yet playing.  The Chiefs need to find some help, and could still use it when Houston is back.  Andre Branch of the Miami Dolphins might be able to provide that help.

The Dolphins are floundering once again as they have no identity.  The best thing they can do at this point is try and free up some cap space to work on rebuilding.  The additional 6th round pick can go into trying to build some depth…well, anywhere.  This doesn’t even really put a dent in their problems, but it would be a start.

The Chiefs definitely get the better end of this deal as they add a veteran pass rusher who can help in the postseason.  However, it’s not a total robbery of the Dolphins as they get much needed cap space and an additional draft pick.  Sometimes you just have to find somewhere to start.  That’s really what the Dolphins need right now.
