Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders

The first test for the Missouri Tigers will be the 4-2 Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee State.  The Blue Raiders are by no means a power house in college football.  However, MTSU has been able to win more than they’ve lost in recent years and have made several bowl appearances.  So they are not an opponent to simply overlook.

Certainly the Tigers are not a team that should be overlooking anybody right now anyways.  On the whole, Mizzou has not been an impressive squad.  Despite their two blowout wins, and a close contest with Georgia, the Tigers have been largely outclassed.

This game has the makings of an offensive shootout, though not for any good reasons.  Apart from North Texans and Alabama A&M (FCS), the Blue Raiders haven’t held a single opponent under 20 points.  Conversely, with the exception of Eastern Michigan and Delaware State (FCS), the Tigers haven’t held a single opponent under 25 points.

The Tigers have a shot at pulling this game out, and with it being a home game I’m leaning their way.  Mizzou Wins: 31-27
