Bad:

Dee Ford Still a No-Show

The Kansas City Chiefs put on a dominant display, but there is still no sign of an outside pass rush.  Simply put, this falls on the shoulders of 2014 1st round pick Dee Ford.  The third year outside linebacker has yet to make an impact during his career, and that has continued this preseason.

Dee Ford did manage to record a tackle for loss, but other than that he was quiet on Saturday.  In fact, I am having a hard time to remember even seeing Ford on the field.  That is not a good thing for a pass rusher.  Ford should be visible on almost every single play.

What makes this worse for Dee Ford is that he was clearly outplayed by rookie linebacker Dadi Nicolas.  It would not be out of line for fans to be calling for Nicolas to play ahead of Ford at this point.  Unfortunately, the Chiefs are unlikely to entrust a major role to a late round rookie.  With Justin Houston still out, that’s what the Chiefs would have to do.  However, Dee Ford’s days in Kansas City may be numbered.
