Potential September Call-Ups – Number 13: Nick Tepesch

Kansas City Royals fans probably don’t know this name, but Nick Tepesch joined the team about a month ago. He had previously spent time with the Dodgers this season and before that was with the Rangers. He also attended Missouri not too long ago.

The good news with Tepesch is that he’s only 27 years old, meaning there’s hope for improvement for the Blue Springs native.

Tepesch did not fare well during his short stint with the Dodgers and has an average ERA of 4.68, which isn’t great. He provides depth in pitching, though, and was actually a starter for Los Angeles this season. He started one game and wound up with an 11.25 ERA. Yikes.

The good news with Tepesch is that he’s only 27 years old, meaning there’s hope for improvement for the Blue Springs native. He likely wouldn’t be used in the rotation this year, but could provide bullpen depth.

Also, Tepesch could end up being an option for the rotation next season should the team not bring back Edinson Volquez.
