Fantasy Football Rookies Number Five: Derrick Henry

Running Back – Tennessee Titans

Handcuff Running Back:  It’s a very common tactic for Fantasy Football owners to grab a backup running back for a guy who is at a higher risk of injury or production fall off.  The Titans may be in that situation as Demarco Murray has dramatically fallen off from his huge season in Dallas.  That makes rookie backup Derrick Henry a quality handcuff option.

Still Not A Starter:  As with any handcuff running back, there is no guarantee that he will see a lot of playing time.  So Derrick Henry will be a “boom or bust” pick for you.  It really is impossible to tell.  So you are gambling a little bit with this pick.

Draft Value – Twelfth Round:  Take Henry around the same time you would any handcuff running back.  You are essentially running the same risks, but Henry comes with a higher potential for reward.  He was a highly touted college running back, so he brings a higher potential than most of your NFL backups.
