Kansas City Chiefs: Five Things To Watch Vs Los Angeles Rams
By Ben Almquist
Can The Wide Receivers Make Their Mark?
Jeremy Maclin is the Kansas City Chiefs top wide receiver. That point was emphasized last week on a broken play where Maclin and Alex Smith showed their ability to anticipate one another with a huge third down conversion. However, behind Maclin there is a huge question mark as to who is next up in the pecking order.
Both incumbents, Albert Wilson and Chris Conley, were quiet against the Seahawks while veteran free agent Rod Streater was able to get make a nice catch, and fellow veteran Mike Williams had a pair. Meanwhile, rookie camp standout Tyreek Hill was unable to really stand out.
The Chiefs need a reliable option as the number two wide receiver. Hopefully with more playing time this week for the starters and second team this week, another receiver will get a chance to step up and put this competition away. There has been a lot of talent shown off in Training Camp, but now it is time for these guys to put it together on the field.
