Kansas City Chiefs Top Rookies To Watch – Number Four: Tyreek Hill – Wide Receiver/Return Man

The Kansas City Chiefs were definitely drafting for value in 2016.  That was no more apparent than when they selected the highly talented, but highly controversial, Tyreek Hill from Oklahoma State.  It would not be a stretch to say he is the single most talented player they selected.

Tyreek Hill largely played running back in college, but with the Chiefs well-stocked in the backfield he will likely be converted to a wide receiver role.  While he does carry some value there, it is really in the return game that Hill is going to make his impact.

Hill lit up the practice field in OTAs with his next level athleticism.  He was able to blow by players en route to big plays.  Of course, that is all without pads.  Now he will have to show that he can take a hit and make guys miss when they aren’t pulling up.

Hill’s top competition will come from DeAnthony Thomas who has made his own mark in the return game.  The two players are very alike in their game play. This figures to be one of the more exciting camp battles in St Joe’s, and regardless of the outcome, the Chiefs should be happy with the result.
