Fourth Best Game So Far in 2016

June 18th: Kansas City 16 Detroit 5

More from Kansas City Royals

This one was probably the most fun to watch, and it was only sweeter that KC beat up on a division rival.

Fresh off a 10-4 victory over the Tigers, KC decided ten runs in a game just wasn’t enough. The Royals jumped in front with four in the second, added three in the fourth, and scored nine runs in the final two frames to blow this game wide open.

This was a breakout game for Whit Merrifield, who set his career high with four RBI on three hits. It could also be looked at as the turning point for Kendrys Morales, who went 4-5 with two doubles and five RBI.

Royals fans haven’t gotten to see a lot of games this year where they’ve been on the good side of a blowout. This game was one of them though, and that’s what puts it at number four.
