Chiefs with Most to Prove in 2016 – Number 2: De’Anthony Thomas

De’Anthony Thomas was drafted in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft with the hope of becoming the next Dante Hall in Kansas City. Instead, he’s been an injury prone player who has appeared in 22 games in two seasons.

Thomas, a contributor on special teams for the Chiefs, has only seen one return touchdown during his two-year career. He spent the last six games of the 2015 season (eight if you count the playoffs) on the NFI and the whole situation was a little odd.

There were even rumors at one point that the former Oregon Duck might consider an early retirement due to the concussion he sustained in the 2015 season.

Instead, Thomas has been spotted at OTAs, meaning that he should be ready to roll in 2016.

Thomas will especially have to prove himself this season due to the drafting of Tyreek Hill. Hill could be a special teams contributor for the Chiefs as well, and there might not be room on the roster for both speedsters.
