Most Disappointing Royals So Far – Number 3: Alex Gordon

Oh, man, this one PAINS me. I love Alex Gordon, whether it be as a Royals fan, Nebraska Cornerhuskers fan, or as a human being who enjoys nice, down-to-earth athletes who can make amazing grabs in the outfield.

Gordon typically gets off to a slow start each season, but this year has especially been brutal for the former Husker.

Gordon is beloved in Kansas City, but his 2016 season has not been kind so far, and considering that he was just given a HUGE contract this offseason (the largest in franchise history), fans might not be so kind to Gordo in the coming months if he keeps up this horrible play.

As of May 20th, Gordon is batting .211/.316/.338 in 39 games and 133 at bats. He’s struck out 47 times and only walked 15 times with four home runs on the year so far.

Gordon typically gets off to a slow start each season, but this year has especially been brutal for the former Husker. His defense hasn’t disappointed, but Gordon has the potential to be a threat at the plate and is not delivering so far this young season.

Alex Gordon very well could get it together, but this slump is definitely one that should be concerning for Royals nation.
