KC Chiefs: Five Players on the Cusp of Greatness
Chiefs on the Cusp of Greatness – Number 3: Eric Berry
Eric Berry is a fantastic safety for the Kansas City Chiefs. He’s been all kinds of tremendous since the team spent the fifth overall pick on him in the 2010 NFL Draft.
Berry is on the cusp of greatness because the fans love him and he has the performances and talent to back up being a fan favorite.
Berry got franchise tagged this past offseason and will likely earn a big contract from the Chiefs. He’s been an inspiration for the city, especially when he was going through his battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and was back in training camp less than a year later.
The Chiefs have had some great safeties during their long existence, and Eric Berry has the opportunity to join that list. He’s already made it to four Pro Bowls during his six years in the league.
Berry has shown that he’s got a knack for picking the football off, recording ten interceptions during his six seasons in the league. He’s returned three of those for touchdowns.
Berry is on the cusp of greatness because the fans love him and he has the performances and talent to back up being a fan favorite. He’s a great force in the secondary and hopefully the Chiefs will have his services for years to come.
